This is probably the best kept beach in Split. This pebbled beach is well equipped with sunbeds and parasols but there are not too many of them, so you can easily come and put your towel wherever you want. There is a VIP platform operated by the hotel, but the rest of the beach is completely open for public.
If you want to meet people, this is the first choice. It’s the central city beach, popular among locals and tourists looking for some fun. If you have ever heard of ”Picigin”, this beach game was made up here, due to the solid sandy seabed which is perfect for short sprints and parades. It’s also, most likely, the only beach game protected as cultural heritage.
It’s located just beneath the slopes of the Marjan hill, a position close to perfect. You can reach it by foot or by public bus number 12, car, bicycle and get there straight from the Split town or from the Marjan Hill for a refreshment after hiking or jogging. Get in the clear water, look up, and see the Marjan Hill in its full beauty!
Only about a twenty minute walk from the city centre, you will reach this pebbled beach just below the Ivan Meštrović Gallery. The water is clear, it’s not as populated as Bačvice, and there are bars right on the beach if you would like to have a refreshment.
Kids and adults love to spend their day here! What kid would not like to swim in the clear sea followed by jumping on trampolines or riding electric scooters on a small race track? You can also rent a sunbed or have a drink at the local bar.
